We've been talking for months about the possible inclusion of cameras in accessories like AirPods or the Apple Watch. In the case of Apple's smartwatch, this element has always been talked about as a camera for making video calls, a utility that not many see much point in. However, Mark Gurman, in his latest newsletter for Bloomberg, has given this element a new meaning, as it would be used for Artificial Intelligence, specifically for Apple's Visual Intelligence feature. This tool, currently available on the latest iPhone models by holding down the Camera Control button, It allows you to use your smartphone's camera to see what's around you and provide you with information. about what we're viewing, or to automatically use information displayed in other apps, such as a calendar appointment by pointing to an event date with our camera. Apple's idea is for the Apple Watch, and also AirPods, to have their own cameras to see our surroundings and be able to use Visual Intelligence with them without having to resort to our iPhone.
Apple's plan is to add this camera to all Apple Watch models. While in regular models it would be located in the frame of the screen, similar to the front camera on our iPhone, in the case of the Apple Watch Ultra, which is larger and has a case and therefore more space, it would be located in the area of the crown and side button.
