The iPad is the best tablet that we can currently find on the market, a tablet that is available in a large number of versions for all pockets and needs of users, an availability that we cannot find in any other manufacturer.
According to the IDC firm, during the last quarter, Apple has shipped 12.9 million iPads (Models are not broken down). If we compare with the figures of tablets that Samsung and Amazon have sent to the market, we see how the sum of both does not exceed the number of units sent by Apple, standing at 12.3 million units.
Despite the fact that Apple has been the manufacturer that has shipped the most tablets in the last quarter, it has not been the one that has grown the most. While Samsung and Amazon have experienced growth in the number of shipments of 13.3% and 20.3% respectively, Apple's increase compared to the previous year has been 3,5%.
The fastest growing manufacturer Lenovo was the number of tablets shipped. Huawei closes the classification with a decrease of 53,7% in the number of shipments compared to the previous year.
According to IDC data, currently Apple dominates the market with a share of 31,9%, followed by Samsung with 19,6%. In third position is Lenovo with a 11,6% share, followed by Amazon with 10,7% market share and Huawei with 5.1%. The remaining 21% share is shared by smaller manufacturers.
Tablets have been one of the electronic devices that more growth experienced throughout 2020 due to the pandemic, along with Chromebooks for their suitability for studies. It is expected that these high figures will remain during the following months until the coronavirus allows us to return to the previous life (if possible).
