Google Maps prepares its Live Activities for the iPhone 15

We are just a week away from the next Apple event in which iOS 17 and the four new iPhone 15 models with Dynamic Island will be officially presented to us. With the arrival of these two novelties, Google Maps would be preparing to launch and improve its Live Activities. At last.

And that is, the latest version of Google Maps for iOS includes hidden code that makes a good reference to Live Activities according to MacRumors and Steve Moser. At this point, the functionality would still be in development and that's why we can't use it yet even though we have already had indications of it.

With this big update, Live Activities will allow Google Maps to look a bit like Apple Maps when it comes to locking the iPhone (although we won't have that full-screen visual that Apple Maps does manage to incorporate when native). Google Maps will be able to show step by step the indications that you must carry out to reach your destination and the estimated time of arrival in a single notification.

But not only that, You will also have this type of information in the Dynamic Island, something that is currently greatly missed because the indications in this regard are quite limited. It is noticeable that the arrival of the Dynamic Island to all iPhone models has made Google get its act together. And hopefully the rest of third parties to give the definitive push to the use of this magnificent element.

We will be very attentive to this update, especially from the presentation of the next iPhone 15 next week. Please come now.
