This is the new low battery animation in iOS 26 Beta 5.

Low battery

Apple has done it again: where anyone would see a simple 20% battery warning, the company turns that moment—feared by everyone, but inevitable for most—into something almost enjoyableIn iOS 5 Beta 26, the low-battery animation changes in true Apple fashion, and it also lets you activate Low Power Mode with a simple tap.

Without warning, a visual micro-moment has been added that transforms the now-legendary low-battery notification. Now, when the battery reaches 20%, the iPhone replaces the classic warning and pops up with an animated red circle, with a pulse radar effect in the pure "help, but cool" style. What's really interesting is the transition: The animation appears from the Dynamic Island (if your model is compatible), includes the option to activate Low Power Mode with a single touch, and if it's already activated, the pulse is softened while the energy bar changes to reflect it.

Low battery

This change is not just aesthetic, it has implications for daily experience: Activating Low Power Mode is now a direct gesture, without diving into settings or opening panels. One tap, and that's it. In short: the low battery animation in iOS 26 Beta 5 is one of those details as subtle as they are intentionalOf course, this only happens on devices with Dynamic Island, which is most of the latest models released. The downside is that those with older models feel more like their iPhone has been left behind. Everything at Apple has a purpose.

For now it is a new addition in this Beta 5 that adds to the many changes in the iPhone interface that have been added since the first Beta was launched in June, and it certainly won't be the lastRemember that Apple always has an ace up its sleeve for the new iPhone.
