Netflix wants to stop paying Apple for subscriptions to its service through the App Store

A couple of years ago, the guys from Cupertino announced changes in the subscription model, a model that from the second year on, reduced the percentage that Apple remains from 30 to 15%, in order to try to incentivize the developer community opt for this new method of monetization, a method that, unfortunately, for many, is becoming more and more common.

The streaming giant seems to have gotten tired of having to give Apple 30% of each subscription that users make through its application, and has begun to eliminate the possibility of being able to register through the application to be able to contract the streaming video service, in a move that reminds us of what Spotify did just over a year ago.

Netflix began to eliminate the possibility of being able to register through the application last June in 10 countries in its initial phase. But since the beginning of August, the number of countries where the Netflix application does not allow registering for the service through the application has increased to a total of 33 countries where Spain, France, Canada, Germany, India, Japan, United Kingdom, Italy and South Korea are included.

But this option has not only disappeared from the Netflix applications available in the App Store of different countries, but also It has also started to disappear of the applications distributed in the countries where the Google a play Store is available.

According to the company, this test will end on September 30, Date on which you will continue with this decision to eliminate the option to register through the application or continue to offer this service as up to now, everything will depend on the feedback you are obtaining from users.
