Apple continues with its particular beta schedule and a week ago the second beta iOS 18.3 and iPadOS 18.3, the next major update to iOS 18, is now available for developers. This update is expected to arrive in the coming weeks, most likely before the end of January. Traces of bugs have been found in the source code of this second beta. a new Apple app that could be called Invitations or Apple Invite. Is Apple testing a new way to organize teams and meetings? Will it eventually scrap the idea or postpone it for iOS 19?
Apple Invite or Invitations, the possible new app from the Big Apple
WWDC highlights Apple's big intentions for new software for next year. This is what happened at WWDC24 with iOS 18 and iPadOS 18. Almost all the new features of these systems were presented and Little by little all these functions and new features are being released in future updates, especially given the planned rollout of Apple Intelligence. However, at WWDC24 there was no mention of a new app called Apple Invite.

- 9to5mac has analyzed the source code of the second beta for iOS 18.3 developers and has found evidence of A new app for organizing events which could be called Apple Invite. This reference was already present in the code of the first iOS 18.2 betas, but it was removed in subsequent updates, up to the second beta of iOS 18.3 that we are currently using.
The information that the source code suggests is that it will be an app created for organize events and meetings which will allow invite users and confirm attendance at such events. It is obviously unknown whether it will be a standalone app or an add-on to the Calendar app. What does seem to be known is that it could be integrated with iCloud.com and the Messages app to be able to carry invitations beyond the Apple environment. In addition, the app makes use of the GroupKit framework which allows the use of databases for groups of people, a new framework that Apple has not used since its launch.
We'll see if all this code is internal Apple testing, hints at future plans, or if we'll see it in upcoming iOS 18 updates or even iOS 19. Who knows!
