Rumors about the arrival of an Apple Car in the next years they begin to grow and sound louder and louder. This makes the big companies begin to make a move, 'shielding' their technologies and cars, ensuring that the arrival of the Cupertino car implies the least possible flight of potential buyers. While the rumors are happening, there are some developers and graphic designers who are dedicated to imagine how could the user interface of the Apple Car be. In this concept we see an interface based on a 15-inch screen in true Tesla Model 3 style.
A vitaminized CarPlay brought to the interface of the Apple Car
This or services created by John Calkins shows a possible interface of the Apple Car operating system. It shows an operating system working on a touch screen in the style of the Tesla Model 3 that has a 15-inch screen located in the center of the dashboard.
If we analyze the concept we see that it is a mix between macOS and the current CarPlay. On the left side we have the dock, an application launcher that contains all the apps used by the driver, as well as direct access to the rest of the apps and Siri. The rest of the screen would be divided in two: the application itself and the control of the car.
In the part where the car's parameters are controlled, we have direct access to music, the heating and air conditioning mechanism, the car's internal and external lighting, as well as other elements such as the windshield wipers. In the remaining part, the information related to the application that was launched at that time would appear.
As applications we have seen Safari, Telephone, Apple Podcasts, App Store, Arcade, Apple TV +, etc. The interface design is fully functional and very similar to the Tesla operating system, although it also includes modifications to adapt to the CarPlay design guides influenced by iOS and macOS in turn.
