Apple boasted during the presentation of the iPhone 12 of the new screen with "ceramic protection" more resistant than that of any other iPhone released to date. In the video that we show you below you can see clearly.
Not even 24 hours have passed since the iPhone 12 has reached the hands of users, and there are already several complaints from known "youtubers" claiming that the screen of their iPhone 12 had been scratched without possible explanation. Although the most basic laws of physics contradict that possibilityLike any rumor that criticizes Apple, those tweets and videos have gone viral and immediately the criticism of the new front glass of the iPhone 12 and its new ceramic protection has arrived.
This video that we show you in this article has subjected the iPhone 12 to quite harsh tests that, in addition to destroying the front glass and the screen of the iPhone 12, show that it is much more resistant than the glass of the iPhone 11, both to breakage and to scratching. Regarding the resistance to breakage, the glass of the iPhone 12 has resisted up to 442 newtons, while that of the iPhone 11 did not support more than 352 newtons, a quite substantial difference. Stones, keys and even a cutter have been used for the scratch test. If we take the Mohs scale as a reference, the iPhone 12 resisted until level 6, while the iPhone 11 at that same level already had marks on the screen. The only thing missing in the test is to leave the iPhone on the table without touching it, to see if it would scratch as some say.
