Voice message transcriptions are coming to WhatsApp
Many times we are in a place where we cannot listen to notes or voice messages and we have friends or family who do nothing but send them to us. This is a problem because We would like to know the content of the message without having to reproduce it. And the solution, we have often imagined, would be a transcription of these messages. That wish has now become a reality.
WhatsApp has announced on its official website the launch of transcribing voice messages directly from the application itself. In fact, the company justifies this function in this way:
Voice messages allow you to connect with friends and family in an even more personal way. Hearing the voice of a loved one, even when you're far away, has a special charm. However, sometimes we're in the middle of an activity in a noisy place or receive a long voice message and we just can't stop to listen to it.
For times like these, we're excited to introduce voicemail transcriptions. Voicemails you receive can be transcribed to text so you can participate in conversations no matter what you're doing.
This function will be rolled out across the world in the coming weeks But for now we are calm because it is compatible with English, Portuguese, Spanish and Russian. When we have activated the function and start using it, we will have to select a voice message and click on Transcribe. At that point, the text will appear just below the audio, as you can see in the image at the top of this article.
To activate the function we open the WhatsApp Settings, click on Cat and then we activate or deactivate the function Voicemail transcripts, & AFTER we will have to choose the default transcription language. WhatsApp has already announced that they will gradually improve the feature, but it is a big step towards improving the user experience with audios day by day.
