The Apple Car issue has been hot all year with multiple rumors about the new industry Apple might be thinking of getting into: the automobile industry. These rumors have pointed to an Apple Car launch as early as 2024. Amid all these rumors, Apple has hired for this new industry two engineers from a brand that knows it perfectly: Mercedes. Fueling in this way again the rumors about the expected Apple Car.
From MacRumors report that the hired engineers would be a great addition to the dedicated Apple Car team (coded as Project Titan). One of them is Anton Uselmann, who has changed his LinkedIn profile to Product Design Engineer in Apple's "Special Projects Group" based on his update on the social networking site. Uselmann, who has a doctorate in mechatronics, He was involved in the development of the Mercedes-AMG systems from 2018 until last month. In addition, he was working for 6 more years also in the field of systems but this time with Porsche.
During your stay at Mercedes, Uselmann was responsible for much of the main systems development chain for various models of the Mercedes-AMG series. To put it in context, the AMG series at Mercedes refers to its high-performance models. To its "premium series" to put it simply. Part of Uselmann's work was also related to the implementation of systems for the mass production of the different models.
We have seen a huge amount of rumors about Project Titan and the Apple Car where it also points to a launch between 2024 and 2028 as well as partners that would work with Apple in production. Recall that this year Apple has been linked with Toyota and other Asian suppliers to put their vehicle into production. It seems clear that Apple is working on it, but, Will we get to see Tim Cook enter a new industry as an end to his legacy within Apple? What we have clear is that, doing so, it will be in a wonderful way and it will not disappoint anyone. Not even Jobs himself.
