If you were to ask me what would be the best reason to buy a Apple Watch, I think you would say its sports functions. The apple smartwatch is a smart watch that means that we don't have to look at our iPhone so much, which is especially good at times like when we do any sports activity. If running is what we like, the Apple Watch has a function that will allow you to stop counting when we stop running.
It may seem unimportant, but in reality it is not. For example, Runtastic has a similar option if we are running, but it does not work if we do another sport such as cycling and the data it offers may not be real, showing the total sum even though we have stopped at a fountain to refill our water cans. If you want your Apple Watch to only count when you are on the go, you just have to activate the option from the settings.
How to activate the option to stop counting when Apple Watch stops running
- We open the Watch application from the iPhone that is paired.
- Let's go to the My watch / Training section.
- Finally, we activate the option by tapping on the switch or toggle It says "Automatic pauses when running."
As we can read under the option, «If this option is enabled, treadmill or outdoor workouts will automatically pause when you stop and resume when you start.«.
If we prefer to be the ones to tell you when to stop counting, we can do it pressing the Digital Crown and the side button at the same time. Keep in mind that, if we have activated them (they are deactivated by default in watchOS 3), when we do this we will also take a screenshot.
Personally, I would like this feature to be available for other types of training as well, such as cycling. But hey, if we do sports other than running, in the App Store there are many applications for any type of sport, so I think we are covered.
