Apple's first foldable smartphone, tentatively known as iPhone Ultra, will incorporate a vapor chamber cooling system to manage the device's internal temperature. This cooling technology will allow the processor to maintain optimal performance despite the significant space challenges presented by its flexible structure. According to reports from Asian supply chains, the manufacturer is maintaining its launch plans for next September.

Production and assembly challenges in the ultra-thin chassis

The pre-assembly processes of the new terminal are under intense pressure due to the complexity of the internal components and the company's design requirements. The initial phase of increasing mass production is proving particularly difficult for partner factories due to problems with surface mounting technology. These technical complications are in addition to the strict quality controls that the company imposes on its regular suppliers before giving the green light to distribution.

The use of a vapor chamber is a significant milestone considering that the estimated thickness of the folded device will be only 4,5 millimeters. To achieve this incredibly thin design, engineers will do without traditional features such as the Face ID recognition system, the telephoto lens, and MagSafe magnetic charging technology. There will also be no room for a physical action button or a conventional SIM card slot in this exclusive model.

Sustained performance through fluid circulation

The thermal mechanism works by circulating a small amount of deionized water that absorbs the heat generated by the phone's main processor. This fluid continuously evaporates and condenses to distribute the temperature evenly throughout the aluminum frame of the terminal. With this method, the structure manages to dissipate energy much more efficiently than the graphite sheets used in previous generations of mobile phones.

Business outlook and estimated presentation date

Industry analysts estimate that the starting price for this high-end device will be around $2.000 in the US market. The device will feature a 7,8-inch foldable internal display, a 5,5-inch external panel, and a Touch ID fingerprint reader for authentication. Main production will begin in July to meet the company's usual schedule, which anticipates unveiling the final autumn catalog.
