How to recover your Apple ID password

The first thing you learn when buying an Apple device is that you need to have an iTunes account to be able to have access to the purchase of applications, backups in iCloud or purchases in the App Store. This account is called Apple ID.

If you haven't used your password in a long time, or just can't remember it, there are several ways to recover and reset it. You will need information to be able to do this, which is logical, since they have to be sure that they give you access to an account that is yours, but it is possible to manage it from the same iPhone.

Reset password using recovery email

1. Open the Safari browser on your iPhone and go to iforgot.apple.com.

3. Click on Next in the upper right of the screen.
4. Choose "Email Us«.
5.  Check the recovery email and follow the instructions to reset your password.

Reset password using secret questions

1. Open the Safari browser on your iPhone and go to iforgot.apple.com.
2. Enter your Apple ID. Remember that your ID can be an email address or just the string of characters preceding the @.
3. Click on Next in the upper right of the screen.
4. Choose "With security questions«.
5. Verifica your date of birth.
6. Write the three security responses and click on next.
7. Write and confirm your new passwordRemember that the password must be at least 8 characters long, must not contain more than 3 identical characters in a row, and must include a number, an uppercase letter, and a lowercase letter.

Reset your password using XNUMX-step verification

With two-step verification turned on for your Apple ID, you'll always need at least two of the following:

• Your Apple ID password
• Access to one of your trusted devices
• The recovery key

In the event that you have forgotten the password, you will have to know the other two data.

1. Open the Safari browser on your iPhone and go to iforgot.apple.com.
2. Enter your Apple ID. Remember that your ID can be an email address or just the string of characters preceding the @.
3. Click on Next in the upper right of the screen.
4. Enter your recovery key and press next.
5. Select the trusted device in which you want to verify your identity (preferably your iPhone) and press next.
6. Write the Verification code temporary on the selected trusted device and press next.
7. Write the new password and press next.

If you have activated XNUMX-Step Verification for your account but have Forgot the password and you don't have the recovery key, even if you still have access to a trusted device it will not be possible to recover the password. In this case, you will have to create a new Apple ID and start over.

Create an Apple ID

1. Access the App Store
2. Scroll to the bottom and click on Connect
3. Choose Create new Apple ID
4. Fill in the fields and you will have a new Apple ID.
