If you have bought a new iPhone, or you have inherited it from a family member or friend, you will surely have questions about What is the best method to set up that new iPhone?. Do it from scratch by configuring it manually? Use the backup and put back all the junk you had in the old one? Use the quick setup? We explain all the methods and their advantages and disadvantages.
When setting up a new iPhone always The question arises as to what is the best way to do itMany people choose the quick method of putting in a backup copy of the previous model, so that in a few minutes everything is exactly the same as on the iPhone you just left behind. Others prefer to do it from scratch, and manually configure the new iPhone, step by step, entering all the accounts and modifying the device settings until it is the way you like it, which takes quite a while. Apple also offers us the possibility of using the old iPhone to configure the new one. How do we do it?
- Si We set up the iPhone as new We will have an iPhone clean of all the junk that we have accumulated on the previous phone. How many applications do you have downloaded taking up space and you don't even remember when was the last time you used them? It's the perfect time to clean up and reinstall only what you really need, and thus have free space for those photos and videos that are filling up your gallery. After all, a lot of data is stored in iCloud, such as the usernames and passwords of your favorite websites and apps, photos (if you have contracted additional space, of course), even many third-party applications, video game saves and many other data are stored in the Apple cloud and as soon as you log in to your account everything appears. It's not as much work as it may seem.
- Si We use our iPhone backup We'll have everything exactly the same on the new iPhone in no time. We won't have to download apps or reorganize all the icons into folders, we'll have all our usernames and passwords already entered into the apps, our emails configured, and the settings exactly as they were before. But we'll also have all the junk we've been accumulating for months (or years) on the old iPhone, so we might quickly run out of space on the new iPhone, or even notice that it doesn't work as well with higher battery consumption. There are not only advantages to this method.
- Si We use the quick configuration system Apple's solution, by placing the old iPhone next to the new one, with WiFi and Bluetooth active, when starting to configure the new terminal it will detect it and we can use a quick configuration system that we can say is a mix between the two previous ones. It is fast (not as fast as the backup but much faster than if we do it as new), it does not drag a lot of garbage and from my experience it does not usually cause problems.
Which of the three methods do you use? I'll tell you about my experience after years of changing iPhones and configuring the new model with the different methods that I have mentioned. In the video everything is perfectly explained and with the steps to follow.
