Having an iPad or any other iOS device has not been equivalent to having to connect it to your computer to add content or transfer it to your computer. Apple and iOS offer us many possibilities so that we do not have to connect our device other than to charge it, and we are going to analyze the most important ones.
Applications and multimedia content
We already explain how to enjoy multimedia content from our iPad without having it stored on it, it is only necessary to have our shared iTunes library and be on the same network. But if we want to transfer the content to our device wirelessly, both multimedia and music and applications possible by WiFi sync, for which our iPad and the computer with iTunes must be connected to the same network.
The first time we want to activate it we will have to connect the iPad to iTunes by cable, and activate the option to synchronize via WiFi in iTunes, in the "Summary" tab of our device.
Once we have selected it, click on Apply, and we will be able to synchronize from our iPad without having to connect the cable.
In Settings> General> Synchronization with iTunes via WiFi we have the button that allows us to synchronize from our iPad. We can also do it the other way aroundFrom iTunes we can select the content to add or delete, and by clicking on Synchronize the action will be carried out on our iPad.
In addition to this option, there is another that is also very comfortable, which is to activate automatic downloads on our iPad. Thus, any application that we download to any device with our AppleID will be will automatically download on our iPad (as long as it is compatible). We have the option to activate it in Settings> iTunes Store and App Store.
We have the same option available in iTunes, in Preferences> Store we can activate the applications that we download on another device to be downloaded to our computer.
