The wait is over for users who updated to iOS 26, because Apple today released iOS 26.0.1, the first update designed to fix bugs discovered after the major version was released just two weeks ago. Although iOS 26 arrived after months of beta testing, many of its flaws only became apparent once millions of users began installing it.
Bug fixes for WiFi and Bluetooth on iPhone 17
Among the most important corrections included in iOS 26.0.1, the solution to the Intermittent disconnections that caused WiFi and Bluetooth to cut out and repeatedly connect on the iPhone 17, iPhone Air, and iPhone 17 Pro. This glitch even caused CarPlay interruptions for some users, affecting the driving experience.
Additionally, a small group of users reported being unable to connect to cellular networks after updating, an issue that has also been fixed in this version. If that weren't enough, the camera exhibited unexpected artifacts in photos taken under certain lighting conditions on newer models, a bug that now has a solution.
iOS 26.0.1 fixes a bug where Some app icons may appear blank after applying a custom tint, which diminished the visual clarity of the home screen. The VoiceOver feature, which is very important for users with visual impairments, had also stopped working for some after the release of iOS 26, but this update restores its proper functioning.
Reinforced security
This update also includes a critical patch for a vulnerability in FontParser, the component responsible for processing typographic fonts. This vulnerability could allow a malicious font to cause unexpected app termination or memory corruption, compromising the stability and security of the device. Apple has implemented this fix for other devices, including iPads, Macs, and the Vision Pro.
How to update
To install iOS 26.0.1 just go to Settings> General> Software update and download the available update. It's recommended to update as soon as possible to avoid the aforementioned issues and ensure smoother use.
