iOS 11 will remove the junk from the links to take you back to the original

For some time now, many of the web pages that we see on our mobile devices have been displayed differently from the original pages. These are Google's AMP links, which the company gives priority to in its search engine results when we access it from a mobile phone, and which have many advantages in terms of loading speed and data rate expense.

Those pages are displayed giving priority to the content, limiting many of the ads and removing unnecessary content, similar to when we save links in services such as Pocket or Readability. Apple seems not to be in favor of this, and that is why in iOS 11 it has added a system that allows copying an AMP link to remove everything that Google adds and only the original link to the article is shared.

Why skip Google AMP? Opinions are very diverse and sometimes completely conflicting. It is true that thanks to Google AMP the loading speed of the webs improves considerably, and that greatly improves the user experience that what they want is to see the content of the link they have clicked on quickly. This is especially noticeable on news pages like ours, however on other types of websites it is hardly noticeable. But all that glitters is not gold, because it also completely destroys the design of the web, something that is worked a lot and money is invested, and that Google completely skips giving the same design to all the pages.

Be that as it may, Apple seems to not want us to share Google AMP links, and that is why when copying a link of this type from our iPhone will eliminate all the "junk" that google adds to the link, taking us to the original link of the article, which will be the one we share on WhatsApp, Telegram or any other service we use. Let's remember that other new features in Safari both on iOS and macOS are also aimed at avoiding that total control that Google has over our web browsing.
