iOS 13.6 adds the ability to enable / disable automatic updates

Apple has just released the second Beta of iOS 13.6 for both iPhone and iPad (iPadOS 13.6 in this case) and this new test version arrives with new options for greater control over updates system of our device.

Automatic iOS updates arrived a long time ago, with the possibility that they were downloaded automatically and that during the night we could install them on our device as long as it was charging and connected to a WiFi network. With the arrival of iOS 13.6 it seems that Apple wants to give more control to the user in these automatic updates and offers us a new menu within Settings> General> Software Update which allows you to customize this functionality.

Now we have two different options with the possibility to customize both the downloads of the new versions of iOS or iPadOS as well as the installation process. We can choose automatic downloads, which will be performed whenever the iPhone or iPad are connected to a WiFi network, but we can also choose between two options when installing the system. If we activate the option to automatically install iOS updates, they will not only be downloaded but will be installed automatically when the iPhone is not used at night, charging and with a WiFi network available. If we only want the update to be downloaded but we are the ones who decide when it is installed, we simply have to deactivate that option.

We are testing the new Beta 2 of iOS 13.6 and iPadOS 13.6 to tell you first-hand all the news in them, so that if we find more noteworthy changes, we will inform you promptly.
