Apple The final version of iOS 17.3 is now ready and has released it, for now limited to developers, in the form of the latest Beta or what is usually called "Release Candidate."
We already have a release date for iOS 17.3: next week. That is why today the latest Beta, or "Release Candidate" version, was released, which except for important errors It will be identical to the version that is officially and publicly launched next week. At the moment this latest beta is limited only to developers, and in the next few hours it will reach users registered in the Public Beta program.
What are the most important new features of this new version 17.3? Well, it brings a new security measure to prevent someone from taking over our phone and the personal data it includes. if you ever know the unlock code for the terminal. A new extra step that will require identifying our face through the Face ID system will be required before performing tasks such as accessing our saved passwords, making purchases through Safari or deactivating Search mode. This way, even if someone might know our unlock code, they will not be able to perform any of these functions because the system will not recognize their face. Some other more involved tasks, such as changing our Apple ID password, will even have a waiting time of one hour to be completed, unless you are in a location known to the iPhone, such as your home. We will also recover the collaborative lists of Apple Music, which we saw for the first time in iOS 17.2 but were never released in the final version.
In addition to iOS 17.3 we have new beta of watchOS 10.3 that includes a new watch face, Unity, which will match the new straps that Apple has prepared with the same theme. macOS Sonoma 14.3 also has an RC version, and we expect the final version next week, as well as the latest Betas for HomePod and Apple TV.
