The new AirPods 4 will arrive this fall

AirPods Pro 2

Apple plans to launch this fall the new AirPods 4 that will arrive with two different models intended to replace the AirPods 2 and AirPods 3. These are the features of Apple's next headphones.

Although it may seem like a lie, Apple headphones have been on the market for several years without being renewed, and this fall will be the time when new models arrive to replace some of the current models. The AirPods 2, which have the same design as the original models, are sold at a price of €149, being the most basic and cheapest model in the range. They have been on sale since 2019, so after more than five years a renewal is more than necessary. The AirPods 3 are more modern, but they are almost three years old on the market, and given that its price is €199 there are already other competing models that offer more advanced functionalities for that price, so a renewal with improvements is more than necessary.

This fall the new AirPods 4 will arrive, with two models, one more basic that will replace the AirPods 2 and another with better specifications that will arrive to take the place left by the AirPods 3. The differences between both models will basically be the wireless charging case and active noise cancellation (ANC). While the most basic model will lack these two functionalities, it is expected that the intermediate model will include them, remaining at a very similar level to the AirPods Pro 2, which will have to wait until next year for its renewal. Regarding the prices of the new models, no major changes are expected. Yes, there will be another change that will affect both models: the USB-C connector. Like the iPhone and the AirPods Pro 2 (renewed model), the new AirPdos 4 will have this universal connector, thus following the path taken by Apple of replacing Lightning with this connection that the iPad and iPhone already have.
