Sonos just announced the compatibility with Amazon Music Ultra HD and Dolby Atmos Music, or what is already possible to enjoy the highest quality music on the brand's speakers.
In order to access this high-resolution music, you must have a subscription to Amazon Music Unlimited, and make sure have your sound system updated to the latest version available. To do this, they can access in the Sonos application the menu "Settings> System> System updates> Check for updates" and confirm that the latest version is installed.
Users who enjoy music on Sonos Radio HD and Amazon Music Unlimited can see what audio quality they are streaming through an icon that appears on the screen "Now Playing":
- HD: indicates a 16-bit lossless stream
- Ultra HD: indicates a lossless 24-bit stream
- Dolby Atmos: Indicates a spatial audio stream mixed in Dolby Atmos
At the moment these high resolution music and Dolby Atmos features are only available for Amazon Music. Sonos speakers are also compatible with Apple Music, so we hope that soon this quality of reproduction will also reach users who opt for the Apple platform directly on Sonos Speakers. It is also possible to listen to music on any Sonos speaker using AirPlay from your iPhone, iPad, Mac or Apple TV.
Sonos has speakers of all kinds in its catalog, from the Sonos Roam, its smallest and most portable speaker, to the Sonos Arc, its top-of-the-range soundbar compatible with Dolby Atmos. In addition, its products are compatible with Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant, in addition to AirPlay 2 so they can also be controlled via Siri. The sound quality, a modern and elegant design and its modularity with the hallmarks of the brand, currently one of the references in its sector.
