When buying an electronic device in the United States, many users refer to the recommendations offered by Consumer Report, some recommendations that can sometimes be modified, as happened with the 2016 MacBook Pro. However, in the case of AirPods, it seems that the recommendation by this body will not vary.
Consumer Report has made a comparison between Apple AirPods and Samsung Galaxy Buds. In this comparison, he affirms that the Samsung model, in addition to being cheaper, offers longer battery life, sounds better and offers better performance in all aspects, being the device of this type more recommended than the Apple model.

Samsung entered the category of true wireless headphones with the Galaxy Buds, a well-rounded product that is very different from the models it had offered on the market until now (Gear IconX) and that never managed to attract the interest of users, something that if they have succeeded with this model.
Although both models have different functionality and cannot be fully exploited when connected to ecosystems for which they are designed, according to Consumer Report, Samsung's model is more functional on iOS than AirPods when connected to an Android device.
According to Thomas Germain of Consumer Reports, Apple's product did not score enough to justify the recommendation of your organization, despite the praise for the integration with iOS and other Apple operating systems as well as the gratifying experience it offers to the user.
Thomas continues the analysis by stating that:
AirPods offer decent performance playing music and movies, sounding acceptable to some users. The audio in the calls also received the go-ahead from this body. However, when you listen to the Galaxy Buds after trying the AirPods, the difference is undeniable. It doesn't take a music connoisseur to recognize quality.
