WhatsApp continues to advance at a snail's pace but at least it continues to plan new functions for its messaging application, and The next one will be the animated emoji, something that we have had on Telegram for years and that soon we will also be able to enjoy in the Meta application.
While other applications have been using personalized and animated emojis for years, in WhatsApp we continue with the emoji that come by default on our phone, without further ado. But it seems that things are going to change not in a long time, because some users who are testing the Beta of the Meta messaging application can already enjoy the first animated emoji in it, and you have a sample of them in the image with which we begin the article. At the moment there are very few emoji that have these animations, short but striking, but it is expected that little by little (very little by little if you follow the usual pace) new ones will be included in the collection. The emoji that I have been able to verify that have animations are the six that you see in the image, according to WhatsApp the most used and therefore the first to be able to enjoy these animations.
Animations can be displayed when you receive an emoji on your phone, and can be repeated by tapping the emoji in question. The animation also repeats every time you enter the char and the emoji appears on the screen. Their duration is very short, they are not animated on a constant loop. In addition to the animation, they are a little larger than normal emoji. For the animation to occur they must be sent alone, if two or more emoji are sent they will be smaller in size and not animated. When will this new functionality reach everyone? At the moment we do not have an official date for the application, but given that it is already available to many users in Beta, it is normal that it will not take too long to reach everyone.
