We tested the new Essential charger from Zens, which combines the design of a conventional adapter with Qi2 wireless charging that allows you to comfortably recharge your iPhone and also has a USB-C port with 18W of power.
When we talk about chargers, some of them stand out for their features, others for their design or the quality of their materials, and today we show you one that is really ingenious. If we tell you that we are going to test a Qi2 wireless charger, you will surely imagine a charging base, horizontal or vertical, with a cable and a power supply. Today's charger brings all of that together in a single element: a power supply that It features a magnetic wireless charging surface and a USB-C port, all with a size only slightly larger than a conventional adapter.
Besides being a very good idea, it is also necessary highlight the benefits that offers us:
- Qi2 (and MagSafe) wireless charging with 15W of power, compatible with iPhone 12 onwards. We can also use it to recharge AirPods with MagSafe charging case.
- USB-C with 18W power
We can therefore recharge two devices simultaneously, one wirelessly and the other via cable. 18W is not the fastest wired charging that can be used today, but it is more than perfect for recharging even an iPad. It is the perfect charger to put in the kitchen, and be able to see the recipe while you are preparing the meal, or for a trip because it allows you to recharge your iPhone and another accessory using a single socket.
The charger is well built, as Zens always does. There is no aluminum or other metal among the materials, but the plastics are of good quality, the finishes are excellent, and of course it meets the most demanding quality standards, such as Qi2, so will take care of your device's battery. Its size makes it perfect to throw in your backpack or bag, or to leave it attached to the socket and use it when you need it. If you use it in a double socket, it does not interfere with the other socket at all, so you can continue using it without any problem. Of course, the magnetic hold of your device is secure, with no risk of it falling. However, if you use a case, remember that it must be compatible with the MagSafe system. And its price is very interesting: available on Amazon for €49,99 (link)
